Hey,
I don’t feel like writing a lot today, but I’ll update you on what has transpired lately.
We had 2 baptisms 2 weeks ago. One with a guy named Luis who is the Dad of the 2 boys we baptized a few weeks back, and the other baptism was with Alfredo, an elderly guy we’ve been teaching. They went well and we were really happy to see each of them be able to make that covenant!
A few days or so before the baptism, I was pressured into something I would have normally never done. I buzzed my head. I had made a vow never to do so, and yet somehow in the spur of the moment, my comps convinced me to do it. Funny how that works. I guess my hair will grow back.
On Friday, I got COVID, or maybe the “Omicron”. I got wrecked and couldn’t even walk home. All I know is I have all the symptoms and we all got put into quarantine for 5 days. The fun part? We were having exchanges with 2 other elders, and so they are also stuck in our apartment until Wednesday. Not gonna lie, it hasn’t been very fun. But I did finish reading “Jesus the Christ” by James E. Talmage which was awesome. Also, I already feel a little better so I hope it stays trending in that direction.
There’s really nothing else more I can write.
This past week, my testimony of the prophet, President Nelson, has been strengthened so much. I know without a doubt that he is God’s mouthpiece on the earth today! Following his counsel is imperative if we want to make it through what’s to come. I’m so thankful for God’s love, enough to guide us through living prophets!
Love,
-Elder Gifford
