Hey guys!
I haven’t written a weekly for a while, but this one is gonna be a quickie.
Since the last weekly email, there have been some interesting events.
I got transferred to a new area for my last transfer here in the mission called Zazil-Ha. We were already covering it in our trio, so it wasn’t all that new. Right before transfers we all got COVID, but we good now. But now me and my companion, Elder Agustin are the technology and social media specialists over the mission, so that’s kind of cool.
I can’t believe my mission is almost over! I’m low key super sad. It has been such a great experience, and I never want to forget it. It has taught me so much, but if I’ve learned one thing, it’s the reality of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I know He lives!
Since January, we’ve been grinding hard to try and help as many people as we can.
Random side note: I buzzed my head. Beforehand I vowed never to do so, but my companions somehow convinced me to do so. Since then it has already grown out haha.
Anyway, we had my last Zone Conference, and I gave my departing testimony. Super sad. Time passes too fast.
This last week we had a baptism for our amigo Ezequiel! We had trouble with the font and had to change the location at the last minute, but somehow it all worked out and we were still able to pull it off.
I love this area! It is full of so many incredible members and people. I am going to be super sad to leave this incredible place! I’ve made so many amazing friends.
Today for our P-Day we went to some Mayan ruins called Uxmal. It was super cool!! Kinda expensive, but totally worth it. I gotta say, when I got there I could totally imagine the cities in the Book of Mormon coming to life. Obviously we don’t know exactly where it took place, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was right here in Mexico and Yucatan.
Sorry this email is kinda rushed, I love you all. Thank you for all you do! Life can get tough sometimes, but remember that there is someone who loves you and watches over you. Heavenly Father is real. Jesus is real. I know it.
Love,
-Elder Gifford
