Hello folks!

I hope y’all are having a great time! These past two weeks have been a crazy time. Elder Espinoza, one of the Elders in our apartment left to go back to Mexico and me, Elder Raymond, and Elder Jensen were put into a trio. We’ve been SO busy. Elder Raymond is the ZL, Elder Jensen is the DL, and I am the page admin and so between each of us, there was a LOT to do. Not mention we were covering 3 areas so that was a lot of fun!

This past week, we had some exchanges, taught some lessons, finished editing our page’s live event, and I hit my 1 year mark! Crazy how fast that time went! We also recently just received our transfer news and……me and Elder Jensen are staying in Sharon for another transfer together! I’m super happy because that means I get to be here to see Carmen get baptized!!! 😊

We also had GENERAL CONFERENCE! Woo hoo! With 20 new temples! How cool was that?!?! When President Nelson said that, the Spirit touched me so strongly. It was truly a testament to me that the work of the Lord is moving forward at an accelerated pace. But I especially loved President Nelson’s talk about faith, President Eyring’s talk about temples, and Elder Rasband’s talk about miracles.

Whenever I hear President Nelson speak, my soul is filled with the love of God and I am filled with the knowledge that He is the Lord’s prophet on the earth today and that Jesus Christ guides His church through him. President Nelson’s words strengthened my testimony so much. He said that if we will start today to grow our faith, the Lord will help us move the mountains in our lives. He also said that Christ is never closer when we are climbing a mountain with faith. We all have mountains we are climbing, or should I say trying to climb? Life is not easy and is filled with all kinds of difficulty. But, President Nelson suggested 5 things that could help us grow the faith necessary to move those mountains:

  1. We need to study and become engaged in learning!
  2. We need to choose to believe in Jesus Christ and bring our questions to Him, letting Him guide us on our journey to spiritual discovery.
  3. We need to act in faith and stretch ourselves to exercise more faith. It’s just like a muscle! If we don’t exercise it and test it, it will not grow!
  4. We need to partake of sacred ordinances worthily. Doing so will empower us to continue forward!
  5. We need to ask Heavenly Father for help! Then do it again, as many times as it takes.

Doing these things will help us move the mountains in our lives and help us in our journey back to our Father in Heaven, who is anxiously waiting for us to choose to follow Him and His Son Jesus Christ.

I want to invite and challenge all of you to do whatever it takes to grow your faith, and prepare yourself to enter into the temple when they are open again!

I love you all and hope you have the best week ever!

Love,

-Elder Gifford
